The program also sees persons who voluntarily seek treatment while in a state of perceived and/or actual crisis, or are treated for medical problems at SF General Hospital Emergency and who have concomitant psychiatric problems. The program provides evaluation, crisis intervention, and referral services and is the gatekeeper for admission to local acute hospital beds funded by Community Mental Health Services.
