As NAMIWalks participants, we are role models for the cause of unity and commitment, bringing millions of people that much closer to their best mental health and toward awareness of what we, NAMI, are able to do.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A TEAM CAPTAIN?

Team building is a critical aspect of NAMIWalks. Teams are a great way to bring people together toward a common goal or enjoy a little friendly competition among each other. The more people that form teams and recruit walkers, the more awareness will be raised about the need for quality mental healthcare in our communities. Team Captains are invited to special events, receive personal coaching, and helpful resources to lead your team to success along the way!

There are numerous ways corporations and organizations can partner with NAMIWalks to help build better lives for families and individuals in San Francisco affected by mental illness. NAMIWalks provides National visibility and offers a unique opportunity to amplify your message.

If you're looking for a rewarding and fun way to support the mission and work of NAMI SF, volunteering with NAMIWalks is a perfect way to make an impact. Your help makes it possible for us expand our outreach in the community.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE EVENTS WE HAVE PLANNED
Beginning in September we will be hosting a series of fun and educational events.
How you can NAMIWalks Your Way:
NAMIWalks Your Way means what it sounds like: participants get to make NAMIWalks their own. You can walk a 5K—through your neighborhood, around your backyard, on your treadmill. Or you can do something else meaningful and fun to celebrate our virtual walk day. Starting on August 26th, NAMI SF will be hosting a variety of socially distanced activities that include a mental health bingo game, virtual happy hour, educational workshops, and a scavenger hunt. Participating in the NAMI Walk is a fun way to meet others and engage your community around mental health. On October 10th, NAMI advocates from across the country will unite for A National Day of Hope. NAMIWalks events will take place in-person or virtually, livestreaming and sharing activities and information about mental health throughout the day. Participants across the country will raise funds and awareness of Mental Health for All by posting on social media and tagging #notalone and #mentalhealthforall.
We are joining NAMI affiliates across the nation for NAMIWalks Your Way San Francisco: A Virtual Event on October 10th.
Our collective mental health needs are at their greatest and NAMI San Francisco's support services are needed more than ever - calls to the NAMI San Francisco Helpline are up 60%, and we quickly pivoted to offer our support and education services remotely adding additional resources to address COVID-19 related mental health issues.

YOU can make a difference in the lives of families and individuals living with mental illness, and together we will raise the funds needed to continue and expand our free-of-charge support and education programming for all in need. Together we can ensure #MentalHealthForAll.
