SUPPORT NAMI SAN FRANCISCO
ENDING THE SILENCE : Reaching Kids Before Crisis
Early intervention is critical.
Fifty percent of all mental health conditions emerge by age 14, 75% by age 24.
NAMI San Francisco provides the ENDING THE SILENCE program free to students in our city’s public high schools and middle schools. This mental health awareness program gives students the tools to recognize warning signs, speak up, and seek support before a crisis hits. In these sessions, young adults share their stories of hope and recovery, normalizing mental health struggles, challenging stigma, and offering resources so students know how to get help—or how to support a friend.
NAMI San Francisco also equips parents, caregivers, and educators with practical strategies to strengthen the safety net that surrounds young people—building the connection and care that foster long-term resilience.
This year, demand for our school programs hit record highs, but our ability to continue this program is at risk.

Due to citywide budget cuts NAMI San Francisco must raise $40,000 to continue to bring ENDING THE SILENCE to students of San Francisco Unified School District.
We need your help now to maintain this program for the 2026-2027 school year.
NAMI San Francisco is a 501(c) (3) non-profit volunteer organization (Tax ID #94-2914709) dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy.
